Emerald Lake

Date:2007. Great FASD Horseback Ride Across Canada.

Emerald Lake is one of the most admired destinations in Yoho National Park, BC. It was discovered in 1882, when famed mountain guide Tom Wilson was led lakeside while rounding up a group of horses that had gone astray, and was immediately taken by the vivid Emerald-coloured waters. The moist, shady enclaves common to the Emerald Lake region make it one of the best places to spot a variety of tiny, fragile wild orchids that survive only in finely balanced conditions.

Mixed media archival pigments and dimensional acrylic on archival canvas based on an original photograph taken by the artist. The finished mixed media paintings are each unique and original and individually signed by the artist. The finished picture should last for many generations.

18"X24" and 24"X36" pieces are on canvas mounted on stretcher bars ready for framing. A black border on the side of the stretcher bars provides a finished appearance that can be used without framing. 9"X12" pieces are mounted on a hardboard backing, ready for framing. The 8"X10" prints are mounted on 11"x14" black matting, ready for framing.
