Tepee Motel

Camping in a tepee is a unique experience. Campgrounds find it highly profitable to offer accommodations in tepees. Some have as many as 20 to 30 tepees fully occupied most of the summer. Prices range from $45 to $65 per night. As a 16' tepee will easily sleep 6 to 8 campers and their gear, the per person cost for group camping is very reasonable. It doesn't take many nights to recover the capital costs.

Advertising Signage

The tepee is the North American symbol for camping, and the symbol for Scouts Canada. A tepee near the entrance to a campground is great, noticeable advertising for the camp. A low wattage interior light at night maks a spectacular sight.

The tepee can be used as an advertising sign for outdoor sporting goods stores and special events.

Special Events

A tepee grabs attention, both for its shape and height. It can serve as an event booth, dining shelter, storeroom, backdrop. We have even produced smaller tepees for use on a parade float.

Summer Cottage

The tepee can make an idea summer cottage. At less than $6.00 CDN ($4.00 US) per square foot, it is the lowest cost home construction you can build. And it can be taken down in the Fall to prevent winter damage or breakins.

Field Crew Accommodations / Long-term Camps

Tepees provide excellent field accommodations for crews working on remote projects, archaeological digs, forestry, movies, etc.

Group Camping

A 16 ft. tepee can sleep 6 to 8 people, ideal for group camping such as Scouts, Guides and other youth groups. In fact, Lake Huron Tepees began as a Scouting project where our Scout group made their own tepee.

A tepee can provide emergency shelter for a typical family. It is easily transported to the problem area.
